I'M A BELIEVER!!!

Deep down inside I have this hope that all of those infomercials and quick remedy schemes will always work! But, alas, they don't always work as they claim. Most don't work as they claim!

A few years ago, my sister-in-law started selling doTerra Essential Oils. And like a good sis-in-law, I bought a few to help her business. I really didn't hold out any hope that they would work, but I was willing to try for the sake of helping my sis-in-law.

I bought a couple of bottles to see if they would work, these three bottles to be exact.

My husband and I used them occasionally. Not until recently have we really focused on it and it's benefits.

Here is why I am a believer.

Evidence #1 - Do you remember last week's post? You can read about it here.

Evidence #2 - I can get sick at the drop of a hat. Any time that I am around someone who is sick, it never fails, I get it too. We recently went to visit my husband's family and when we got there everyone got sick. I wanted to die! This is not how I wanted to spend my trip. We were lucky and staying with my sister-in-law who sells the oils, she handed me this...

So, I tried it. I rubbed some on my feet that night, put my socks on and went to sleep. I did it the next morning too. And later that night. And the next day, twice. I managed to get out of there without getting sick. And luckily so did my husband.

Other oils we've used...

Peppermint - My 1 year old was sick a little while back. It was a late night, on a Friday, and he woke up throwing up. I rubbed a little bit on his tummy. 3 times a day and he didn't throw up anymore.

Melaleuca - I love cats, but I am allergic to them. This allergy came after we got a cat and I'm one of those people who would rather suffer than give away my pet. So, I pet my cats and hurry and wash my hands. Sometimes I forget to wash before I touch my face. That's when I rely on Melaleuca. I usually splash water on my face and then dry it and rub a drop of Melaleuca on my sinuses. Within minutes, I'm back to my pre-petting cat self.

Lavender - I use this in many places. {1} A drop or two in the diffuser to help me sleep better at night. {2} A drop rubbed onto the bottom of my boys feet when they are having trouble falling asleep. {3} I use it (2 drops) mixed with fractionated Coconut Oil (10 drops) 2-3 times a day on my stomach after each of my boys to help fade the stretch marks. Yes! It works. It took about 3 weeks before I really had to strain my eyes to see them anymore.

Past Tense - I get really bad headaches. So, I rub a little on my temples to help relieve them.

I'm not trying to change anyone's opinion on essential oils or modern medicine. I am just wanting to share something that has helped our family.

Here are some other ways essential oils help.

Lavender,  Peppermint and Wild Orange for Seasonal Allergies; TerraShield for Bug Spray; Lavender for soothing bug bites; Wild Orange and a spray bottle for a quick road trip pick me up; Peppermint for road trip headaches; Balance and Lavender for a soothing nap time; White Fir, Lavender and a spray bottle for a magic owie spray.

Frankincense for almost everything you can think of; DigestZen for the flu and Deep Blue for sore muscle pain.

  1. I'm so excited about this giveaway! My daughter has told me so much about the benefits of using oils. I don't know which one I'm most excited to try. Probably Breathe, my allergies get really bad in the fall and spring.

    1. Lavender really is a great one. I usually take a cup of baking soda and a few drops of lavender and sprinkle it all over my bed. An hour later I will vacuum it up and it helps to make the bed smell fresh and cleans out any dust mites living there.
