MAKEUP STORAGE!!!

Organization is my true love!

I don't think that I could go throughout life being disorganized!

Those who can... more power to them!

But if you are anything like me, or want to be a little more like me in this category, here are some tips on how to store your makeup!

This is beautiful! Seriously it's one of my favorite ideas. It's also a great way to recycle some old wood.

Stick On Pods awesome! All of the plastic containers in the door come in a kit for $24. It's a clever little way to store your makeup in your medicine cabinet!

Are you lucky enough to have a drawer or even multiple drawers in your bathroom? Little plastic or wooden caddy's are a great way to store your makeup. I've even used a utensil holder. It's nice!

Where has this been all of my life? I love how it has a space for everything!

I am in love with this storage system! This collection of makeup would make me cry, and because of how organized it is, I'd bawl like a baby!

This is a helpful storage solution! Look how much makeup you can pack in there!

This is my own personal makeup magnet board! Can you tell that I love Almay? Well, not so much Almay itself, but Kate Hudson.

This is the holy grail of makeup storage! I think most girls would love to see this in their home! Wouldn't you?

NEW YEAR'S EVE TRADITIONS!!!

The older I get, the less I can stay up till midnight.

Ok, that's not true. I've always been a person who goes to bed early.

I've been working on getting better. I mean, it's only one night, right?

My husband and I have been married for 5 years and this will be our 7th NYE together.

All but one of those years, we have watched all 6 Star Wars.

Yeah, we are a little nerdy!

We also stock up on lots of snacks.

We veg in front of the tv till midnight!

But this year, I am looking to add a little more to the festivities.

How Does She has a great tradition...

Each balloon is labeled with an hour and is filled with a piece of paper.

Take the 12 strips of paper and write ideas on them.  Here is their list for some ideas:

1. ‘Paint’ with shaving cream
2. Have a snowball fight
3. Eat a cookie
4. Ready a story in front of the fireplace
5. Have a thumb war
6. Sing a song
7. Clean the bedroom (ya have to have one chore in there)
8. Balloon Volleyball
9. Drink hot chocolate with marshmallows.  YUM.
10. Call Grandma and wish her Happy New Years!
11. Turn on the music and dance like it’s 1999
12. Tell a favorite memory from the year before.

Don't have any kids? Are they grown and gone? Make it a little more romantic!

You could make it more of a Q&A.
1. What do you secretly wish your spouse would dress up as for Halloween?
2.  If you were stranded on an island together for ever and could bring 1 item with you, what would your spouse bring?
3. Who made the first move?
4.  Where was your first date?
5. What was your first impression of your spouse?
6. Where was your first kiss?

Or you could make it more active.
1. If you love in the same city you dated in, have dinner where you had your first date.
2. Play strip poker. Strip goldfish. Strip monopoly. Whatever.
3. Watch the first movie you saw together.
5. Slow Dance - Top 10 Slow Songs
6. A little private time ;)
The New Home Ec has a great idea, especially for us crafty people...

Spend each hour working on a craft. Make those simple things you keep delaying. Make one every other hour. Plan crafts for the kids. Plan crafts just for you. Whatever works best for you.

What are your traditions?

I'd love to hear them!

CHRISTMAS ORGANIZATION!!!

I hope you all had the merriest of Christmases!

Probably within the next week or so, you'll be taking down all of those decorations and trying to figure out how and where to store them all.

I have to have organization or I will go crazy!

You don't have to go all in and spend hundreds of $$.

I started out slowly. I bought a few items here and there each year to store my Christmas items.

Here are some helpful organizing tips for your decorations!

Tree Storage & Outside Decorations

It depends on what kind of storage you plan to have. Do you prefer bags or plastic containers?

Tree Storage can be pretty easy and cheap depending on the size of your tree.
These are for 6 - 7 foot trees.

These can also hold all of your blow up and plastic, outdoor decorations.
Tree Bag $18

I prefer the hard storage containers for all of my outdoor & indoor decorations and tree. These are my favorite. They stack nice and easy into any space. I actually have 3 of these.
Tree Plastic Storage $31

Cheaper solution?

Keep the original boxes. If they seem to be falling apart, it's nothing duct tape can't fix!
Not quite as pretty, but an easy solution until you have some money to spend.

Wreaths

I make lots of wreaths, so I need these in bulk. Luckily I have found some great storage boxes.
Wreath Box $8

Wreath Bag $11

Want a cheaper solution?

All you need is a hanger and a plastic garbage bag. I'm pretty sure you have some of these things at home already!

Ornaments

I really don't like storing all of the boxes and containers that come with the original ornaments. They seem to be really flimsy.

This container stores 75 ornaments, it does come with the the dividers.

Ornament Storage $14

This one comes with dividers too and stores 60.
Plastic Ornament Storage $17

heaper solution? Maybe you already have plastic containers. Find some cardboard and cut to fit, glue plastic cups and add your ornaments.

Lights

These are genius!  What a great way to prevent the lights from tangling up throughout the year.

Both of these are perfect and cheap!
Light Storage $2

Both have clips in the corners to hold the plugs. Genius, I tell ya!
Light Storage $1.60

Want a cheaper solution?

Use cardboard. Not quite as sturdy, but definitely gets the job done!

EASY, DIY KIDS CRAFTS!!!

For some reason, Grandma's love getting homemade things from their grandkids! And sometimes, mama's love getting homemade things from their babies!

Well, here are some easy, cute gifts to make!

CHRISTMAS DESSERT!!!

I love pie. It's a weakness.

I love cheesecake too. Another weakness.

Oh, I almost forgot, I also love cakes. This time of year is dangerous!

Here are my 8 top dessert recipes!

CARD HOLDERS!!!

I LOVE GETTING CHRISTMAS CARDS!!!

It's one of the things I really look forward to each year!

However, every Christmas I just end up taping them to the back of my door so that I can see them.

Not this year though. This year, I am going all out and getting creative! Now, just to decide...

This was originally posted just to be wall art. But you could totally turn these into a card holder. All you need is some festive fabric, foam board, ribbon or raffia and a glue gun with glue sticks.

This was originally meant to be for your kid's wish list. However, you could use the same concept for your Christmas cards. All you need is a wooden ornament, paint, ribbon, clothes pins and a glue gun with glue sticks!

I love this idea! SO simple. You need small wooden clothespins, acrylic paint & foam brush, various patterned papers (in Christmas colors, of course!), coordinating buttons, decoupage medium & foam brush, hot glue gun and 3 to 5 yards ribbon (depending on where you hang your garland).

I don't have a staircase, but this is beautiful! It's the same concept as the last one, but the garland just adds a little more to it!

 Shanty 2 Chic

This is such a cute way  to display your cards. 4 2x4's, paint sticks, staple gun, twine, clothes pins and decoration. I love this one!

 S.A.S Interiors
This a great way to display your cards. You need 6′ long X 12″ wide wood board, clothes pins (30 – 35), spray pain, stencil, white paint & stain (for the distressing), and paint for the letter.

 Budget Wise Home

The most simplest of all! Just need ribbon and clothes pins.

So, which you do you think is the best idea?
